Confined Space Inspections
Remote interior inspections that keep your people out of hazardous, permit-required spaces. Using propeller-guarded drones and ground crawlers, VSI Aerial captures the highest-resolution visual and thermal data from inside tanks, boilers, and pipes - no scaffolding, no rope access, no entry permit.
Boiler Inspections
Boilers, furnaces, fireboxes, and stacks are the dark, dusty, tightly-enclosed environments that make manual inspection slow and dangerous. We can identify hot spots, refractory damage, and tube wear without erecting internal scaffolding. Using drones, we can capture the angles and detail your reliability team needs to identify or prevent future issues.
For assets that demand contact-level detail, the Wombat crawler supplements the aerial footage from the ground up. The combination shortens outage windows and gives engineers a complete visual record of interior condition - so maintenance calls are made on evidence, not guesswork.

Tank Inspections
Storage tanks, process vessels, and pressure vessels have to be inspected on a schedule, but emptying, ventilating, and sending an inspector inside is slow, expensive, and hazardous. VSI Aerial flies collision-tolerant inspection drones directly into these enclosed assets to capture 4K visual and thermal imagery of interior walls, floors, and roof structures. The drone's protective cage lets it operate safely in tight, GPS-denied spaces, and its onboard lighting reveals the corrosion, pitting, and weld cracking a handheld light would miss.
Where a flying platform can't reach - low clearances or debris covered floors - our ground-based crawler drives across tank bottoms and vessel interiors with stabilized 4K zoom imaging. Together the two platforms document the full interior of a tank, vessel, or silo and support regulated, third-party-witnessed inspections without putting a single worker inside.
Pipe Inspections
Pipes, ducts, culverts, and underground runs are among the hardest assets to inspect and the most hazardous to enter. VSI Aerial deploys the right platform for the geometry: drones for larger-diameter runs and the crawler for tighter, ground-level passages where flight isn't practical. Live HD video streams back to the operator in real time, so problem areas are flagged the moment they appear.
The result is a documented, repeatable visual record of blockages, corrosion, joint separation, and structural defects - captured without confined space entry, dewatering, or excavation. Inspections that once meant shutting down a line and sending in a crew are completed remotely, with footage and stills delivered back for review.

Wind Turbine Inspections
The inside of a wind turbine is a confined space few inspectors can safely reach. Blade interiors, tower columns, hubs, and nacelles develop cracks, delamination, lightning damage, and bonding defects that are invisible from the outside. VSI Aerial flies collision-tolerant inspection drones inside the structure, traveling from the blade root toward the tip to capture 4K visual and thermal imagery of internal surfaces.
For the tower base, nacelle floor, and other surfaces where flight isn't practical, our crawler documents condition from the ground up. The result is a complete internal record - delivered without sending a person into the cavity.
Nuclear Power Plant Inspections
Nuclear facilities contain some of the most access-restricted confined spaces anywhere. Reactor vessels, containment structures, pipework, and spent-fuel areas all require inspection, and every minute a worker spends inside carries real exposure cost. We deploy collision-tolerant inspection drones in nuclear, power generation, and chemical facilities to capture the visual and thermal data engineers need while personnel stay outside these hazardous areas.
Because the drone operates in dark, GPS-denied, dust-heavy conditions, it reaches areas that would otherwise demand scaffolding, containment, and extended outages. The result is shorter downtime, and a documented inspection record suitable for regulatory and third-party review.

Crawl Space Inspections
Buildings are full of confined spaces. Crawl spaces beneath ground floors, interstitial spaces between floors and ceilings, mechanical plenums, and utility chases all have to be checked for moisture, structural condition, and the state of the pipework, ductwork, and wiring routed through them. They're low-clearance and awkward. Sending a technician in often means a confined space permit and a difficult, time-consuming crawl.
Our inspection crawler is built for exactly these spaces. Its invertible four-wheel drive keeps working even when it flips, its dimmable 1,000-lumen lighting fills pitch-dark voids, and its gimbal-stabilized camera tilts from +90° to −30° to inspect floor framing, slabs, and the utilities overhead. We drive it in and stream live HD video back to your team - a clear, documented look at the condition of the space without anyone having to crawl through it.
