Drone surveys use photogrammetry - a process where hundreds of overlapping aerial images are stitched together using specialized software to produce accurate 2D orthomosaic maps and 3D point cloud models of a site. This data can be used for: Volume and stockpile calculations, cut/fill analysis, as-built vs. design comparisons, BIM integration, stakeholder reporting, and legal documentation of site conditions. Drone surveys are faster and far less expensive than traditional land surveys for many of these use cases.
